Casting the He-Man movie: the others

It's been a while since I did one of my He-Man casting blogs, but with the very exciting news that Sony has chosen a December 2019 release date for their Masters of the Universe movie, I figured I'd better pick this back up and finish it up. I've covered most of the main characters in my previous blogs, but the great thing about He-Man is that there are a slew of great side characters as well. With each new character, Matel had a new toy to make and sell. But that also gave the writers another character to explore and do something with. Here are my casting suggestions for some of the remaining characters: Andrew Garfield as Mekaneck Unfortunately Andrew Garfield wasn't kept on as Spidey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but he's a good actor and he'd be a great addition to the He-Man movie. He could take a relatively small role like Mekaneck and make it a great part of the movie. That's what some of the actors in the new Star Trek movies ha...

More Spidey to come too

Iron Man isn't the only super hero returning to the big screen in the next several years. You'll be seeing a lot of Spidey too. "Sony's film studio announced Monday it has OK'ed the third and fourth editions of the webbed franchise, and that they will hit theaters on June 10, 2016 and May 4, 2018," USA Today reports . Andrew Garfield is already resuming his role as Spider-Man. He's in New York filming the sequel to last year's The Amazing Spider-Man . It's set for a May 2014 release date -- the same month that X-Men: Days of Future Past is set for. The Amazing Spider-Man - reviewed.

When The Amazing Spider-Man was first released in the early part of July, it wasn't on my list of movies to see in the theatre. Unfortunately, the new version of Spider-Man was the summer super hero flick that didn't fit into my checkbook. That changed last Tuesday though. I was trying to figure out what to do with my evening. I noticed that Cinemark 10 , in Matthews, was showing The Amazing Spider-Man. I'd never been to Cinemark 10, but it was the cheap theatre, from what I'd heard. I figured watching Spider-Man on the big screen would probably be more fun than watching the DVD on my 20" Vizio television at home. I got to the theatre and it was pretty much deserted. I was literally the only person in the lobby. I purchased my ticket from a machine. It took me a few minutes to get the ticket be...
