Star Trek: Into Darkness - reviewed.

Whenever I think of 2009’s Star Trek , I think about the scene where Captain Kirk’s parents are killed and he’s sent on a course to Earth – Superman style – in a small vessel. I was awestruck that such an emotionally powerful scene happened so quick into the movie. It was something I just didn’t see coming. It’s because of the tone set by that very first scene that one doesn’t know what to expect when watching Star Trek: Into Darkness . J.J. Abrams isn’t afraid to kill off a character – even those you aren’t expecting anything to happen to. He makes that clear with Star Trek: Into Darkness . That’s not to say that there’s a plethora of death in the new Star Trek movie, but it’s not one of those movies where you know that everybody is going to come out alive and well by the end of the 123 minutes. I was wondering, at the beginning of each scene, if the majority of Captain Kirk’s Star fleet were going to get out of their predicaments alive. That takes your emotions on one ...

J.J. Abrams to direct new Star Wars film

J.J. Abrams is about to go from Star Trek to Star Wars . "Yes, J.J. Abrams will direct Star Wars: Episode VII, the first of a new series of Star Wars films to come from Lucasfilm under the leadership of Kathleen Kennedy," was written in a statement published on StarWars.com. While I'm not a mega-fan of his work like some are, I thoroughly enjoyed the 2009 Star Trek movie. If Abrams can bring that kind of work to the Star Wars films, it'll only mean good things. I've been in a sci-fi kind of mood recently, as I just watched Star Trek: The Motion Picture and Star Wars: Episode II . Both movies left a lot to be desired, so I'm all for Abrams taking a shot at re-creating Star Wars (even if it doesn't need to be revived). Star Trek: Into Darkness teaser released

So who is excited for the new Star Trek movie? It seems like it's been ages since the Star Trek brand was reworked on the big screen. Star Trek , starring Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto and Zoe Saldana, was released in 2009. I guess it will be about five years old by the time the sequel goes to theatres. The movie poster looks akin to The Dark Knight Rises, but doesn't really give many clues as to what will happen in the film. The new teaser trailer for Star Trek: Into Darkness that was just released gives us a little more information. I've always been more of a Star Wars fan, but the trailer looks cool. It seems J.J. Abrams is going all out with this new threat that the crew of the Enterprise will face. In the teaser, there's a shot of what appears to be the Enterprise, crashing down into the ocean. I'm not sure what other plots will be brought into the film, but it looks like the overall plot will be the threat of someone destroying Earth. The respo...
