TV's faceless characters

This is it. This is the season that the girl underneath the yellow umbrella will finally be revealed. How I Met Your Mother entered into its ninth and final season last night. It'll still be a while before we finally see Ted's wife and the mother to his kids. Ted’s wife (and the kids’ mother) isn’t the only faceless character on TV. In fact there are several characters, from the past and present, whose faces were never revealed. Sometimes the faceless characters are the most memorable, as you can see by the examples below.

TV Shows That Should Come Back

As all of the TV networks announce their new Fall lineups , one show has yet to be mentioned: Girl Meets World , the spin-off series of Boy Meets World . ABC lineup | CBS lineup | NBC lineup | FOX lineup | TNT lineup When the Girl Meets World pilot was shot, it got me thinking about some of the other shows that could still have a little life left in them, whether they are brought back in their original form or as a spin-off. Sister, Sister (1994 - 1999) Tia and Tamera Mowry haven't done too bad since Sister, Sister went off the air in 1999. They've done a series of projects (mostly together, playing twins) for Lifetime and the Disney Channel, but surely they wouldn't complain about a new run of Sister, Sister , if successful. We could catch up with the twins in 2013, now as grown women -- perhaps with children of their own.

The Big Bang Theory (Seasons 1 - 4) - reviewed.

It’s been a while since I’ve been in the blogosphere. That’s because I’ve been busy watching the greatest sitcom since Seinfeld . I’m talking about The Big Bang Theory . Yes, I’m just realizing the awesomeness that is Sheldon, Leonard, Raj, Wallowitz, and Penny (knock-knock, Penny, knock-knock, Penny). I’m usually a few years behind when it comes to TV shows. When a show hits syndication and starts airing on TBS, FX or some other cable channel is when I start watching it. With the exception of Lost, I’ve never really watched a television show as it was airing. It was always too much work to remember to watch it each week. Being able to set recordings on VCRs and DVRs made it easier, but, even then, I’d forget to set the VCR or my DVR would be too full to record. Anyway, I got The Big Bang Theory on DVD. Several people were telling me what a good show it was, so I decided it was time to catch up to speed. I caught up through the fourth season and now I’m thoroughly add...

Life without Cable TV – Week 1

It was an interesting week. Me – being the TV fanatic that I am – living without cable ? My Grandmother thought it would more than difficult for me. So far, I have to say, it’s not so bad. I grew up with cable TV and, after it was dark and time to come inside from riding bike with my friends, television and movies were a big part of my 8-year-old world. I loved the characters, the suspense, and the cinematography. It was like reading a book, but a little better because I could watch the story unfold before my eyes. The directors and producers show you what they want – leading you on a journey that can be happily predictable or surprisingly confusing. Either way it’s fun to go along for the ride. Last week I decided to cancel my service though. What sense does it make to keep it when a cable bill costs $73 a month (before taxes) and there’re just a few programs I watch religiously? I found myself watching WWE and Friends reruns on Nick-at-nite. I’m usually about 6 years ...
