For a while there you couldn't turn on the TV without seeing some kind of superhero show. It seems that the end of a TV superhero era is upon us, however. Rumors are that Arrow (on the CW Network ) will be cancelled  after the next season. Along with that, Legends of Tomorrow is also apparently on the way out. There are even rumors that Supergirl may be replaced by a Superman TV show. Netflix just announced the cancellation of Jessica Jones and The Punisher . This is after Daredevil , Iron Fist and Luke Cage were all cancelled last Fall. And any Gotham fan knows that this show is going away after the end of this season, too. Relax --- it's all cyclical: While many fans are probably upset by the abundance of cancellation news, I'm not. I'll miss Daredevil and Gotham . To be honest, I haven't had the chance to keep up with Jessica Jones' second season, Luke Cage's second season, the last season and a half of Arrow or finish the first...

What an action-packed movie this was, huh?! Marvel and Disney have been working toward this for years and it really did come of as massive team-up movie. I really liked how they kept the feel of the individual characters while telling the overall story of Thanos and his quest for the Infinity Gauntlet. The story was pretty straightforward though they really made Thanos out to be a more dynamic character than just a power-hungry villain. The backstory of Titan made him almost human — just misunderstood. Still a bad dude but you could see where he was coming from and where he went wrong. Oh, and let's talk about his costuming.  I was very skeptical when I saw the trailer and he didn't have his battle gear on or his helmet.  He does adorn that at certain parts of the movie and I got used to seeing the movie version very quickly. Wow! I’m so glad I saw this movie! Star Trek 2: Into Darkness was, by far, my favorite movie this year so far, but Thor 2: The Dark World could give it a run for it’s money. The Dark Knight is probably my favorite of all time. Hmmm...maybe it has something to do with the word 'dark?' Anyway, let’s get this out of the way first: stay until the very end of the movie! Even when you think it’s the end…stay a while longer. That’s right. A movie with two extra scenes, mid and post-credits! Back to the beginning though. Sometimes it’s hard to set up the background of villains, but this movie wastes no time doing that. They make it clear right away: beware of the evil elves. Malekith the Accursed, played by Christopher Eccleston (though you wouldn't know it, thanks to the make up and effects), isn't the best villain of all time. I don't know if he'd crack the top 25. When I recently blogged about Cobra Commander and the upcoming movies of 2013 , it got me thinking: what are some of the best real-life incarnations of villains from the comic books? I have a feeling Cobra Commander could easily fit into that category. Take a look at the cartoon-to-real-life transformation: Come G.I. Joe 2, we'll see if the acting lives up to how awesome the photos look. In the meantime, I came up with a little list. There’s a variety of reasons for my choices; sometimes it’s the costuming that makes the character come to life. Other times it’s the physical appearance. Sometimes it’s just really amazing special effects that makes it work. Whatever the reason, these are some of the best villains that made it to the big screen: 10.
