Star Trek: Into Darkness teaser released

So who is excited for the new Star Trek movie?

It seems like it's been ages since the Star Trek brand was reworked on the big screen. Star Trek, starring Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto and Zoe Saldana, was released in 2009.

I guess it will be about five years old by the time the sequel goes to theatres.

The movie poster looks akin to The Dark Knight Rises, but doesn't really give many clues as to what will happen in the film.

The new teaser trailer for Star Trek: Into Darkness that was just released gives us a little more information.

I've always been more of a Star Wars fan, but the trailer looks cool. It seems J.J. Abrams is going all out with this new threat that the crew of the Enterprise will face. In the teaser, there's a shot of what appears to be the Enterprise, crashing down into the ocean.

I'm not sure what other plots will be brought into the film, but it looks like the overall plot will be the threat of someone destroying Earth. The responsibility to save the planet will, of course, lie on the shoulder's of Captain Kirk, Spock and company. The trailer didn't feature much of Spock though, which seemed odd. I'm assuming he'll play as big a role as he did last time around, but I guess we'll see when the movie is released.

I'm trying not to keep too up-to-date with the plot and the cast of the movie, so I'm anxious to find out who this new villain is and why he, all by himself, is such a threat to the planet.

All in all, I guess it's a successful trailer. It caught my interest and, most importantly, the entire plot wasn't revealed. I hate it when movie previews leave me with no reason to watch the actual movie.

What do you think? Disappointed or excited? Take a look at the trailer and leave a comment.

Celebrity (look-a-like) sightings - part 4

Another exciting edition of celebrity look-a-likes -- part 4 to be exact. On the left: Wes Scantlin On the right: Edge Edge was in the first two blogs about celebrity look-a-likes, so why not another time? Evidently I think this guy looks like just about everyone on Earth. I previously compared him to Jamie Campbell Bower and Wilson Bethel, but this time I think I got it right: he's the spitting image of Puddle of Mudd member Wes Scantlin! These days Edge doesn't have the shaggy hair , but when he was in his "Rated R Superstar" run in the WWE in 2006, he definitely could've passed for Scantlin. The big, square jaw and toothy grin? Yep -- they must be some kind of family. On the left: Kelly Kelly On the right: Amber Heard From a former WWE superstar to a former WWE Diva. When I heard that Johnny Depp got engaged to Amber Heard, I typed my way over to Google and found a photo. I was looking at Amber Heard, but could've sworn it was K...

Celebrity (look-a-like) sightings - part 3

Part 1 and Part 2 were good, but I think there's some definite look-a-likes this time around. I'll get right to the comparisons, but let me know what you think? Am I spot on or what? I saved the very best (and closest comparison) for last this time, so make sure to scroll to the bottom of the page. On the left: Edge On the right: Jamie Campbell Bower May as well start with a wrestling-related one. It seems those pro wrestlers have doppelgängers all over. I'd mentioned before that Wilson Bethel resembles Edge . I still stand by that statement. However, I think Jamie Campbell Bower looks even more like Edge. Jamie Bower, for those who are unaware like I was, is an actor who has quite an impressive resume already. I just watched The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones (review to come later) and that's the first time I saw him...or so I thought. Jamie was in the final three Twilight movies, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Parts 1 and 2 , and t...

Choosing a side on DVD menu's -- what's the point?

Most DVDs go to a menu screen after you’re done hearing about ‘the cloud,’ how cigarettes can kill you and seeing a preview for the latest animated film. Some, however, give you an option. ‘Pick a side,’ they say. I’ve run into this twice recently – with the G.I. Joe DVD and The Break-Up DVD . At first I thought it was a cool concept. Maybe, if you pick Cobra’s side, there’s an alternate ending? Or maybe some special features --- like an in-depth look at Storm Shadow’s sword training. If you pick the side of the Joe’s, maybe there’s a look at their stunt training. No, no, and no. I went with Cobra and it takes you to the exact same screen, with the exact same features, as it does when you pick G.I. Joe. Same thing with The Break-Up .
